I understand there could be consequences to them, emotionally, practically and maybe even legally if I killed myself shortly after discharge and that is why I would never do that. The legal proceedings happened without my knowledge, preventing me from defending myself.

The authors refused to withdraw the article, which resulted in a five-month battle where they needed legal assistance from their university and from Germany where the publisher is located. The complaint seemed to have come from the National Centre for Suicide Research and Prevention. There was nothing defamatory in the content.
