New Study Links Antidepressants to Increased Risk of Diabetes

A new study published in Progress in Neuropsychopharmacology & Biological Psychiatry finds that antidepressant use is linked to type 2 diabetes (T2D). Beyond a simple link, the methods used in the current work point towards antidepressants as a cause of increased risk of T2D in people diagnosed with major depressive disorder (MDD).
