I had some vague awareness that patients occasionally had a “bad reaction” to a pill, but I assumed that these reactions were one in a million and it never crossed my mind that something like permanent genital numbness could occur. As far I am aware, there is zero mention of iatrogenesis in the OCD literature.

I said, “On paper everything’s great, but I’m struggling with this existential feeling of being 38, single, childless, increasingly aware of mortality.” I’m aware it could be interpreted as invalidating mental health issues, but that’s not my intention. This creates an opportunity to work through them constructively.
