One would have thought that suicide is a hard endpoint and that we can believe analyses carried out by drug regulators based on the clinical study reports the manufacturers have submitted to them, but this is not so. But as with so much else in psychiatry, this can be negotiated, obscured, and influenced by commercial conflicts of interest.
