When LSD was banned in the US in the 1960’s, Grof developed a breathing technique for inducing Altered States of Consciousness (ASC’s) that he called Holotropic Breathwork. I tried this technique a couple of times and it did induce an ASC but for me it also induced a “bad trip” or psychosis soon afterwards.
