I was asked for my ID, insurance, and other things that hospital staff typically ask of a patient. All ten cells that outlined the U-shaped corridor were constructed out of white-painted cinder block, plexiglass, and bolts. I roomed with a Portuguese woman who was diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
